Im thinking about peircing my left ear lobe?

tell me if im clear or not right now my earring and the needle is being soaked in acohol, if i apply some ice to it will it kinda numb it, i dont reall care too much about the pain but i dont want it to feel like my ear lobs gonna split.and if so how long should i keep the ice on there? and keeping an apple slice on the other end of the ear helps to? or no? and afterwards putting acohol on my ear and salt water on it and doing that everyday while cleaning it. is that it? or am i missing something?
