Does anyone have any experience with Mitsubishi Montero vehicles?

I own a 1999 Montero and just found out that I have about $3-4,000 dollars worth of repairs to make. Is it worth it to make ther repairs or should I just trade in the vehicle and invest in something else. I just finished paying for this car and didn't want to start again right away, but I'm afraid I'll repair it and then something else breaks down. Appreciate any help.
