What do British people think of American accents?

I'm from Scotland in the UK, we hear American accents alot, TV shows, music, movies and so on. All different accents from different parts of America so I'd say that we are pretty familiar with the different states and their accents (roughly at least). They are pretty normal to us. However I have an american friend who I had met several months ago, when she spoke I found her accent quite fun and exciting, something different, seemed to add something positive to her character. I was surprised when I thought this way because I hear them so much. Overall I like the american accent.
