Should we make English official US language?

I think if you want to be a citizen you should have to learn English. It gives a common language to the nation. I think it is interesting that people tolerate Spanish so much there. The name of the country is The United States after all, not Los Estados Unidos. In the Netherlands you have to demonstrate fluency in Dutch to become a citizen.
