Horse developed balding on his face?

This could be Rain Rot or Scald, proud flesh, a mite problem, a place where he's rubbed the skin raw, a chemical reaction, etc. Your best bet is to call a vet and schedule an appointment. Can't afford it? Many vets will let you take a pic, email a pic to them, and give you a diagnosis for cheap or free... Mine does all the time.
