Does anyone know how to scan a doent with the HP PSC 1200 all in one, in word and edit it?

I am trying to scan a doent. In word if it stays in the exact format as the original I am unable to edit it. If the format changes and just the words are transfered, then I can edit. My goal is to keep the format and edit. Has anyone had experience with this?
